The upset of the year in sports has just occurred. The number 8 seed Memphis Grizzlies have knocked off the number 1 seed San Antonio Spurs. They are the second team to accomplish this upset since the NBA expanded the playoff season to a best of 7 series. No one saw this upset coming before the series started. The Spurs lost the series in six games, but this series almost ended sooner. In game five the Spurs were losing and managed to some how tie the game up in the dieing seconds. They managed to squeeze by in overtime and take take the game 110-103. The Grizzlies ruled the court in game six of the series and only trailed twice in the game. Both times they trailed they only trailed by a single basket. The Spurs offense was no match for the Grizzlies big man defense. After the game San Antonio game most of the credit to Zach Randolph. They were unable to shut him down in game six, or any other game in the series. He was a one man recking crew in the fourth quarter. Once his team was trailing in the fourth quarter he scored 10 of the next 14 points for his team to retake the lead and never look back. He dropped 17 of the Grizzlies 29 fourth quarter points to finish the game off with 31 points. The Grizzlies are going to have to face another hard opponent in Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder. This series I would predict OKC to come out victorious, but with the Way Memphis has been playing you can no longer doubt them out of a series.
